Criminal Investigation Section
What the section does
The Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) investigates serious and non-serious criminal complaints, crimes against people and property, and narcotics cases.
Most investigations and complaints are opened and closed in this section, from minor disputes to the most serious crimes. Detectives handle cases that require evidence identification and collection, fingerprint processing and crime scene investigation. Sometimes an entire case hinges on the evidence found at a scene.
Cooperation with surrounding police agencies helps lead to arrests and the closing of cases, including narcotics trafficking.
