UNIFORMED PATROL UNIT

A quick response to 9-1-1 calls for service and high visibility neighborhood patrols are the primary duties tasked to the uniformed patrol unit. Patrol is often referred to as the “backbone” of the police department, handling calls for emergency and routine police service each year as well as aggressive traffic enforcement. Uniformed patrol is organized by time into three shifts covering day, evening and nights. Patrol officers are assigned to marked patrol vehicles throughout the various areas of the township and are the first responders to calls for citizen assistance.

Although assigned to general patrol duties, many officers are trained in various technical police skills, enabling them to provide the best possible level of service to our citizens. Each officer is linked to our communications dispatch center by radio and our marked patrol vehicles have been equipped with mobile data terminals which is a very useful tool to catch the criminals.
