ACUA UPDATED GUIDELINES – When in doubt, throw it out!

Last year the ACUA updated their recycling guidelines.
ACCEPTABLE ITEMS
Paper, Cardboard and Cartons
(flattened cardboard – cereal boxes, junk mail, newspaper, magazines, milk cartons, soup/broth cartons.
Plastics only plastic bottles and containers with #1-2 with necks smaller than the base (water bottles, beverage bottles, milk, juice jugs, detergent bottles, condiment containers),
Metal Cans  (aluminum, tin or steel cans)
Glass  (glass bottles and jars, all colors)
REMOVE FOOD/LIQUIDS – RINSE AND SHAKE DRY!

DO NOT RECYCLE THE FOLLOWING:

Plastic bags, aluminum foil, batteries, broken glass, mirrors, bubble wrap, caps/lids, cellophane, ceramics, electronics, frozen food boxes, food residue, hazardous waste, large rigid plastic, liquids, needles, sharps, paper towels, napkins, plastic bags, plastic cups, plastic utensils, plastics #3-7, pots and pans, shredded paper, Styrofoam, tangly items, tissues, wet paper/cardboard

WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT.
